La Colmenita wins the Premio del Barrio

Havana, Dec 24 (RHC) The Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) presented this Saturday in Havana, the Neighborhood Award to the Theater Company La Colmenita.

The Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, member of the Central Committee and the Council of State, and National Coordinator of the CDRs, presented the highest award to the Goodwill Ambassador Group of the United Nations Children's Fund.

The Neighborhood Award is granted once in a lifetime to individuals and institutions with a relevant trajectory in the community work or in the activity they carry out in favor of the people.

They have disseminated their cultural work throughout Cuba and other nations.

The company holds numerous awards, including decorations, recognitions, national and international prizes and has been awarded the National Vanguard Flag of the Union of Culture in 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003.

Directed by Carlos Alberto Cremata, the Company has among its objectives to contribute to the promotion of human values in children and adults through artistic creation, especially theater. (Source: Radio Rebelde)
