Havana, February 16 (RHC) -- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel arrived Friday in the municipality of Camajuaní, in the central province of Villa Clara, to hold exchanges with groups involved in the country's economic and social development.

Accompanying the president was Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organisation of the CC-PCC, the presidency reported on its X account.

Díaz-Canel visited the Gámica Seed Farm, a Grassroots Business Unit belonging to Urban Agriculture, which closed with losses last year.

The head of state learned that the center requested several hectares of land to produce food, mainly rice for the municipality, and is awaiting certification of the solar panels, which has prevented the irrigation system for the crops from being put into operation.

In dialogue with workers and managers of the site, he recalled the importance of the entity in food production.

Another item on the Cuban president's agenda was the Camajuaní organoponico, where there are problems with the irrigation of the plants.

As part of the tour, he also went to the Álamo packing plant, belonging to the Empresa Cárnica de Villa Clara, which has been halted due to a lack of raw materials.

There, the Party leadership urged the materialisation of productive chains.

Camajuaní is the seventh municipality that Díaz-Canel has visited after beginning his second cycle of visits last week, with the aim of seeking solutions to problems, with collective thinking and the most efficient use of material, financial and human resources.
