Havana, May 5 (RHC)-- A statement ​​​​from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba was issued on Sunday in Havana.  

The text, in English, follows:

With the aim of promoting tourism, facilitating the flow of travelers and continuing to promote relations of friendship and cooperation with the People's Republic of China, it has been decided to exempt from the visa requirement Chinese citizens holding ordinary passports who wish to enter, transit, leave or remain in the territory of the Republic of Cuba.

Chinese citizens who wish to remain in the territory of the Republic of Cuba for a period of more than ninety (90) days, starting from entry, must apply for the corresponding visa.

Chinese citizens who enter the national territory to work, study (including courses organized by official entities of both Parties), reside, carry out news reporting or engage in other activities other than those authorized for entry into the national territory, must apply for a visa. corresponding before entering Cuban territory.

This facility will undoubtedly contribute to promoting exchanges between the people of both countries.
