Higher Education celebrates the start of the 2024-2025 school year

Havana, September 16 (RHC) -- With more than 220 thousand students, including new students and continuing students, the 2024-2025 school year for Higher Education began on Monday.

In the presence of Walter Baluja García, Minister of Higher Education of the Republic of Cuba, Jorge Luis Perdomo Di Lella, Vice Prime Minister, Inés María Chapman Waugh, Vice Prime Minister, directors, students and professors of the José Antonio Echeverría Technological University of Havana (Cujae) expressed their desire to belong to the sector and become a future Cujaeño.

During the ceremony that took place today at the center, Martha Dunia Delgado Dapena, Rector of the Cujae, who was in charge of the central words, thanked the support of the State and the Government, as well as the Ministry of Higher Education (MES), to reopen the doors of the Cujae to new students, and continue offering a quality higher education, despite the difficult situation that the country faces.

The occasion was also propitious to present the Cujae seal to the Buena Fe Duo, which since 2013 participates in the galas for the beginning of the course and welcomes the new students with a “good faith” concert, who listen for the first time to the hymn “Alma Cujae” that Israel Rojas, leader of the prestigious group, wrote with so much feeling and roots.

Delgado Dapena told the press that this event has a special meaning for all those who follow the legacy of the unforgettable Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and his desire that this be a university that transforms the environment and transforms itself, maintaining an important and permanent link with the people from the neighborhoods.

More than 1,300 students, for an enrollment of approximately 5,700, entered the Technological University today and will be celebrating with those who continue the 60th anniversary of the founding of the university city on December 2.   (Source: ACN)
