Havana, October 22 (RHC)-- Cuban President Raul Castro saw off an 83-member medical brigade that will fight Ebola in Africa, particularly in Liberia and Guinea Conakry -- two nations hard hit by poverty and the lack of resources to deal with this growing epidemic.

The brigade is made up of 35 physicians and 48 nurses, who expressed their commitment to offer their services and take all established safety measures, according to this morning's edition of Granma newspaper. All professionals with the brigade have over 15 years of experience, while 42 percent of them have served on this kind of medical mission before.

With this brigade, Cuba now has 256 medical professionals in West Africa as part of its commitment to health and humanity.
