Cairo, January 15 (RHC-PL) -- The achievements of Cuba in health, education and sports were recognized by the governor of Cairo, Galal Mustafa al Said, in an interview with Cuba's Ambassador Laureano Rodriguez, according to diplomatic sources in Cairo. He also expressed his desire to work for developing and strengthening relations between Cuba and Egypt in all the spheres of bilateral interest, added the spokesman of the Cuban embassy.
The governor noted the need to develop relations and highlighted that the Cuban experience might be of interest for Egypt, especially in the struggle against illiteracy, which in these moments affects approximately 17,000,000 Egyptians.
Both Ambassador Rodriguez and his host emphasized the historic bonds of friendship between Cuba and Egypt, founders of the Movement of Non-aligned Countries, and the friendship between the two leaders of world size: the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro and President Gamal Abdel Nasser.
Egypt is one of the countries that in a systematic way votes at the United Nations in favor of the resolution that demands an end to the economic, financial and commercial blockade of the United States against Cuba, imposed more than half a century ago.
