Havana, June 26 (RHC) -- Cuban prima ballerina Viengsay Valdes on Thursday received the Lorna Burdsall Dance Award, the most prestigious honor granted by the performing arts section of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).
The president of that cultural institution, Miguel Barnet, presented the award to the prominent dancer in ceremony at one of the halls of the National Ballet headquarters.
Barnet said: “Valdés is a product of the Cuban Ballet School and the National Ballet of Cuba, which she has represented and honored around the world.”
