Astana, June 30 (RHC) –- The President of Kazakhstan's Senate, Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev, received on Monday afternoon in Astana the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minster of Cuba, Rogelio Sierra, who is paying a short official visit to the Asian country.

During the meeting, Tokaev expressed his satisfaction with the visit and asked the Cuban official to convey his best wishes to the people and government of Cuba.

The Kazakh senator also slammed the U.S. economic blockade of Cuba and demanded its immediate lifting, says a Foreign Ministry report.

For his part, the Cuban official thanked Kazakh authorities for the warm welcome and hospitality, and congratulated his hosts for the excellent state of bilateral relations.
