Havana, July 28 (RHC) --- Alina Rodriguez, one of the most important Cuban actresses of all time, admired for her exceptional theatrical skills and loved by the Cuban people, has died in Havana, a victim of cancer.

Born in the Cuban capital on October 4, 1951, the Cuban actress recently starred in the role of a teacher named Carmela in the award-winning Cuban film “Conducta” by Ernesto Daranas.

Among the many laurels for her roles, she was the winner of the Best Actress category, awarded by The Havana Film Festival in New York last year.

Alina Rodriguez also starred in the film “Contigo pan y cebolla” by Hector Quintero and was known for her role with Adolfo Llauradó in the work “In the Park” by the Russian director Alexander Guelman.

On the small screen, she played stellar characters, as in the TV soap opera “Tierra Brava,” in which she starred as Justa. Alina Rodriguez also gave acting classes and directed professionals and amateurs in various community projects.

Alina Rodriguez died Monday in Havana at the age of 63.
