Havana, August 21 (RHC) -- This morning's edition of Granma newspaper highlights the 10th anniversary of the transmission of the program Alo Presidente, with the participation of the late Venezuelan Commander Hugo Chavez and the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
The television program, broadcast from the Sandino municipality in the Cuban province of Pinar del Rio, coincided with the Bolivarian government's building of 150 houses for families affected by hurricanes and the operation of 50,000 patients in Operation Miracle.
Currently there have been more than 2 million 700,000 surgeries as part of the Operation Miracle eye-care program that extends to 14 countries, with 46 eye centers and 55 therapeutic medical offices, where 420 professionals and technicians work.
