Pretoria, October 21 (RHC-PL) -- The Vice President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, travelled to Cuba on an official visit until Monday, October 26, a note from the Presidency reported in Pretoria today.

Ramaphosa yesterday concluded his three-day stay in Sweden, the first stop of a tour that will also take him to Mexico. The South African vice president arrived in Stockholm on Sunday to attend the Ninth Session of the South Africa-Sweden Binational Commission.

According to the text, Ramaphosa described the stay in the Scandinavian nation as successful, where "we were able to achieve all the goals we had set ourselves," he said, particularly the re-launch of bilateral relations at various levels.

Last June, in statements to Prensa Latina, the South African vice president expressed his desire to visit the Caribbean island in the near future. He also confirmed the position of South Africa to continue demanding the lifting of the blockade that successive U.S. administrations have imposed against Cuba for more than five decades.
