Havana, October 22 (RHC-acn)-- Salvador Valdes, Politburo member and Vice President of the Council of State, received Sharif Ali Housein Meshal, General Commissioner and Member of the Political Bureau of the Al Fatah movement, who heads a delegation visiting the island for an exchange program with the Cuban Communist Party.

During the fraternal meeting, held on Wednesday afternoon, the Palestinian leader expressed his satisfaction for being in Cuba again, thanked the Cuban people for its historic solidarity for the Palestinian struggle and the substantial contribution made in the training of hundreds of youngsters of his country.

Sharif Ali Housein also spoke about the critical situation that this people are currently going through, in which the Government of Israel increases its extremism and greed and attacks Palestinian citizens, claiming more and more innocent lives. He explained that his people are under occupation and that it has no other choice but to resist.

The Cuban vice president reiterated the island's solidarity with the just cause of the Palestinian people and its condemnation of the permanent brutal aggression is subjected to by Israel.
