Havana, October 28 (RHC)-- Media outlets and social organizations all over the world highlighted the almost unanimous international rejection of the U.S. blockade against Cuba, as expressed Tuesday at the UN General Assembly, where 191 out of 193 member states voted in favor of a resolution that demands the unconditional lifting of the unilateral U.S. policy.

The multinational TV network teleSUR and the Spanish daily El País highlighted the record high support this for the Cuban cause, with three more countries siding with Cuba against Washington's over 50 year economic siege.

French press highlighted the overwhelming victory for Cuba, and the context in which the UN vote took place, just three months after the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Washington and Havana.

Meanwhile, iTélé TV channel, the newspaper Le Figaró, and the Le Grand Soir website highlighted that there were no abstentions this year and that the United States and Israel were both isolated as the only two UN member countries voting against the resolution.

Media outlets in Russia broadcast the speech by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, contrasting it with statements by the Israeli ambassador, who admitted that his country's vote reflected Tel-Aviv's unconditional support for the United States.
