Havana, April 1 (RHC)-- The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbáyev begins an official visit to Cuba on April 2nd, during which he will hold talks with President Raul Castro.
An article on Granma newspaper says that Nazarbayev will also carry out other activities as part of his official agenda.
Born in April 1940, Nazarbayev made an outstanding political career which included being president of the Council of Ministers of the former Socialist Soviet Republic of Kazakhstan and First Secretary of the Communist Party's Central Committee. He was first elected president of Kazakhstan in 1990 and since then he has been reelected head of state up to the present.
In the latest presidential elections in Kazakhstan, held in April 2015, Nazarbayev was elected head of state by 97.75 percent of voters.
