Cuba Hosts Convention on Biomedical Sciences

Havana, May 28 (RHC-PL) -- The 1st Ibero-Latin American Convention on Basic Biomedical Sciences began Friday in Havana with the participation of 150 delegates from the United States, Spain and Cuba.

Taking place at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) under the theme 'Stem Cells: Present Situation and Prospects,' yesterday's session included three keynote speeches on regenerative medicine and stem cells.

Running parallel to this event are the 4th Symposium of Basic-Clinical Integration and the 1st Symposium on Terminologies on Morphological Sciences.

The scientific program also included the discussion of a free paper and electronic poster, according to the Cuban Society of Morphological Sciences said.

The Convention, sponsored by SCCM and ELAM, includes discussions and the presentation of papers on the terminology of the morphological sciences.
