Havana, September 17 (RHC)-- The Center for Immune Testing (Centro de Inmunoensayo, CIE) is now using Suma technology to diagnose TIR (tripsinógeno inmunorreactivo) in newborns.

Suma is a Cuban technology, developed by professionals at the Center for Immune Testing. This is now the sixth infirmity in newborn babies that can be diagnosed as a result of products developed by CIE.

CIE has the mission of developing strategies and technologies for the active and integral investigation of the principal causes of the pathologies of the Cuban population.

Founded on September 7, 1987, by Fidel Castro, it reflects the Cuban policy of developing scientific and research centers that benefit the Cuban population and that are of particular relevance to the needs of Third World nations.
