4th Varadero Josone Festival ends

Matanzas, Aug 28 (RHC) The Varadero Josone Rumba, Jazz & Son Festival ended in the early hours of this morning with an evening full of excellent performances, after seven nights of presentations in which the public enjoyed the talent of renowned Cuban and foreign artists.

For the fourth consecutive day, the Josone Park, in the seaside resort city of Varadero, hosted the presentations of the Festival, which once again brought together different musical genres as an expression of alliances between performers of different generations.

According to Pachito Alonso, the Varadero Josone Rumba, Jazz & Son made it possible for experienced artists and young talents taking their first steps in the music industry to interact with the public, "the event is interesting and at the same time I think it as very necessary for the national culture".

For singer Haila María Mompié, good Cuban music can be made in any genre, take advantage of traditional rhythms, new trends and unite them in order to gain in contemporaneity, becomes purpose of events like these that help and support us to connect between all genres.

The event started last Monday at the Sauto Theater, National Monument, an institution of this city that hosted the three initial days of the event. From Thursday night until the early hours of this morning, Josone Park was the epicenter of a Festival valued as successful by musicians and journalists as well as the general public.

The support of promoting organizations such as the Ministry of Culture, the Cuban Institute of Music and the Cuban Music Recording and Publishing Company and the maestro Issac Delgado, leader of the project, made possible the successful development of the third edition of the musical event.

The Varadero Josone Rumba, Jazz & Son Festival made possible to enjoy different musical genres in direct contact with excellent landscapes of the seaside resort city, Cuba's main sun and beach tourist destination, to which the Sauto Theater, one of the most important of its kind in Latin America, was added this year.
