Havana, (RHC) - World Long Jump champion Juan Miguel Echevarria is one of the stars announced this Friday at the athletics meeting in Ulsteinvik (Norway), celebrating the 24th birthday of the European country's star, Karsten Warholm.
For the party of the bicentennial of the 400m hurdles world champion have also been invited the pole vaulters Sam Kendricks and Pawel Wojciechowski, and the Cuban long jumper Maikel Massó.
Juan Miguel made his debut in the current season a few days ago in Madrid with 8.41m, a mark with which he went on to lead the world ranking.
His coach Daniel Osorio praised the Cuban athlete's performance by saying: "it is his best opening (of the season) since we worked together. Because apart from the good performance, the world bronze medalist in Doha showed a good rhythm and entry into the table, two parameters that were objective in that first presentation", said Osorio in declarations to the digital newspaper Jit.
