Havana, November 14 (RHC)-- The classic battle between Santiago de Cuba and Industriales is capturing the attention of baseball lovers with the resumption of the National Series, after the break for the season's All-Star Game.
Encouraged by the demonstration of several of their exponents in the recent All-Star Game in the province of Santiago de Cuba, both teams will appear at Havana's Latino Stadium for the competition that will help them improve their status in the standings.
The Santiago team, directed by Eriberto Rosales, is in sixth place with 23 wins and 17 losses, while the Industriales is in seventh place with 22-18.
Another interesting duel will take place in the Victoria de Girón Stadium, where the champion Matanzas -- leader of the contest with 26-14 -- will play against Las Tunas, a team that has been climbing positions with 'clean wood' and is already in the ninth position, five and a half games away from the leader.
To complete the weekend program, Holguin will visit Artemisa, Guantanamo will play against Isla de la Juventud at Cristobal Labra, Camaguey and Mayabeque face off at Nelson Fernandez and Cienfuegos-Ciego de Avila at Jose Ramon Cepero.
