Miami, February 24 (RHC/PL)-- The goals of Cuban Yeranis Lee stand out among the five best moments of the World Cup qualifiers of the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf).
According to the official website of the event, the six goals scored by the West Indian striker in the victories over St. Vincent and the Grenadines (3-0) and against the British Virgin Islands (14-0) place her at the forefront of the top scorers in the qualifiers for the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
In front of her fans, the Cuban player scored her first goal in the smile against St. Vincent and the Grenadines on February 16 and three days later at the Francisco Morazán stadium in Honduras, she led with five goals in the victory over the British Virgin Islands.
With this performance against the Virgin Islands, Lee became the second national player capable of scoring five times in a match with the Cuban eleven.
In addition, the scorer of the largest of the Antilles appears second among the top scorers, behind Nicaragua's Yessenia Flores, who scored one goal in the 2-1 defeat against Trinidad and Tobago and six in the 19-0 success over Turks and Caicos Islands.
Lee and the Cuban team will return to CONCACAF qualifying action in April against Honduras (Friday, April 8) and Haiti (Tuesday, April 12) as part of the E key.
The winners of each section will advance to next July's CONCACAF Championship phase, along with the United States and Canada.
