Gigantes and Estrellas win in Dominican Baseball League

Havana, December 21 (RHC)-- The teams playing in the Dominican Baseball League semifinals are all tied with one game won and one lost.

On Tuesday, the Gigantes del Cibao defeated the Tigres del Licey 4-2 thanks to a home run by Yamaico Navarro in the eighth inning that broke the tie and led his team to victory.

Reliever Luis Perdomo (1-0) pitched a shutout to earn the win and veteran closer Fernando Rodney earned his first save of the semifinal. Hansel Robles (0-1) lost,

The Estrellas Orientales defeated the Águilas Cibaeñas 5-0 in a game in which Panama's Andy Otero was outstanding from the mound and starter Lewin Díaz drove in two runs to give his team the win.

Otero (1-0) won his first game while Carlos Martínez (0-1) was defeated.
