Havana, November 30 (RHC) - Cuban volleyball star Yumilka Ruiz successfully defended her doctoral thesis during the penultimate day of the AFIDE Physical Activity and Sports Convention, held at the Havana Convention Palace.
In front of a packed room, the former volleyball player spoke about her research in the world of volleyball.
Ruiz, 45 years old, has two Olympic titles and several world titles in her sports record.
He is also a member of the Volleyball Hall of Fame in the United States and collaborates in the technological observatory at the Manuel Fajardo University of Physical Culture and Sports Sciences in Havana.
Dozens of friends and several of the "Morenas del Caribe" were present, in addition to the top executives of INDER and the University of Sports (UCCFD) Manuel Fajardo.
It was the first time that a Doctoral Thesis was defended at the AFIDE International Convention.
