Havana, May 9 (JIT).- Cuba achieved its third straight victory in the North American and Caribbean Men's Handball Championship (NACHC), based in Mexico.

On this occasion they defeated Greenland with a score of 35 goals to 26, in what was the first failure for the northerners.

This was another game favored by the Antillean side from the opening stages, to the point that they dominated the first half with a comfortable difference of nine goals.

Ronaldo Almeida scored six times to lead the winners in that section, followed by Frank Cordiés and Maikol Vázquez with five goals each.

The Greenlandic left back Minik Dahl Hoegh drilled the Cuban goal eight times, to become the top scorer of the match.

The result of the clash left the Cuban team as the only undefeated team in the competition, so a victory against the United States this Thursday would ensure a place in the final.

The Americans lost to the Mexicans and have found themselves with some shortcomings. They have only managed to beat the weak Puerto Rico with a difference of one goal.

In addition to the tournament title, the final will be played for the qualification ticket to the 2025 IHF Men's Handball World Championship, which Croatia, Denmark and Norway will jointly host.
