Caribbean Baseball Cup

Bahamas, Oct 28 (RHC) In a pitching duel, Cuba won the bronze medal at the 6th Caribbean Baseball Cup by defeating Saint Marteen 2-1.

Yosiel Serrano opened the game for Cuba and recorded 13 outs. The Cubans opened the scoring in the third after Francisco Martinez singled, driving in two runs. Yosiel Serrano won the game. The starter allowed three hits and one run in four innings and one third, struck out four, and gave no walks. 

Daniel Vos took the loss for Saint Marteen. The starting pitcher pitched three innings and one third, allowed two runs on five hits, did not strike anyone out, and gave no walks. Rafael Perdomo earned the save. Sammy Benitez pitched two innings without runs for Cuba in relief. However reliever Rafael Perdomo came in with one out and 2 aboard to get the last 2 outs and earn the important save.

Darian Palma led Cuba with three hits in three at-bats and Victor Draijer went 3-2 at the plate to lead Saint Marteen in hits.
