Barbastro, Spain, Jan 5 (PL) Barcelona advanced to the round of 16 of the Spanish football Copa del Rey with a 4-0 thrashing of Barbastro in a round of 16 tie.
The azulgranas absolutely dominated and prevented another surprise from the Second Federation club by sealing the success with two goals from Poland's Robert Lewandowski in the 31st and 47th minutes, and one apiece from Eric García (21st) and Pablo Torre (56th).
Atletico Madrid took a 1-0 lead over Marbella and a goal from Frenchman Antoine Griezmann (16th minute) to equal their best run of consecutive wins in their history, with 13, as they did from August 27 to October 31, 2012, also with Argentine coach Diego Simeone at the helm of the red-and-white side.
