Mayflower Tours is the latest foreign tour operator to offer a people-to-people Cuba itinerary, with departures beginning in early 2015.
The company has been granted a license by the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Mayflower has put together a series of Cuba departures that visit Cienfuegos, Trinidad, Havana and the countryside over a nine-day period.
People-to-people tours include dining in several of Cuba’s paladars, privately owned family restaurants; visits to a cigar factory; and something quite different, an educational introduction to Cuba’s unique the antique car phenomenon, including rides and meetings with their proud owners.
The nine-day itinerary is priced at $4,199 per person and includes 20 meals, round-trip transfers between a hotel and the Miami International Airport, a round-trip charter flight from Miami to Cuba, the baggage fee for the Miami-Cuba flight, airport transfers in Miami and Cuba, and the visa fee. Cuban hotels are all four-star, health care in Cuba is included and a Mayflower tour manager will always be at hand.
First time tourists should not forget the $25 exit tax upon leaving the country!
