The Hague, March 25 (RHC) With a call to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons, leaders from 53 nations of the world inaugurated the 3rd Nuclear Security Summit in the Hague on Monday.
Working sessions opened with an audiovisual acknowledging the contribution by nuclear energy to society as long as such technology is used for peaceful means, while alerting on the danger posed on the Human Species by the use of nuclear weapons.
In his opening remarks of the summit, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said that the forum aims at discussing an agenda to keep the safe use of nuclear energy.
Meanwhile, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called on participants to prevent nuclear weapons from falling in the hands of terrorists.
