La Paz, October 30 (RHC)-- The president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, warned Friday that coup attempts are emerging in the country, and called to maintain the unity of the people over political preferences.

"In the face of attempts to divide us and new coup adventures, the unity of the Bolivian people, the unity of the homeland, is the answer above colors and political preferences.  You are the ones summoned to continue working for the country," said the president.

During his participation in the 23rd anniversary of the Association of Municipalities of Beni, in the city of Trinidad, Arce also bet on integration to overcome the country's problems after the de facto government of Jeannine Añez, and emphasized that "today we have no choice but to recover the lost time."

Regarding economic reactivation, the head of State recalled the measures implemented by the Government, among them, the Bono contra el Hambre (Voucher against Hunger), the Value Added Tax Cash Reimbursement System (Re-IVA), and the Sibolivia credit for the substitution of imports.

The Bolivian president emphasized that work has been done to guarantee vaccines and confront COVID-19, which has made it possible to reduce the lethality rate in the country, strengthening infrastructures and improving conditions in the health system.

For his part, Vice President David Choquehuanca called for the unity of the Bolivian popular forces to protect the democracy of the Plurinational State.
