Quito, July 10 (PL-RHC) -- More than 83 percent of Ecuadorians consider the performance of President Rafael Correa positive, according to results of a survey.
The study, conducted by Perfiles de Opinion firm, indicates that 22 percent of the population considers Correa's performance very good and 61.3 percent considers it good. Only 15 percent think the government's performance is bad, 1.6 percent terms it very bad and 0.1 percent failed to respond.
The survey was carried out in late June in Quito and in Guayaquil, the nation's two most important cities. A total of 620 men and women over 18 years of age were consulted, and the range of confidence was 95 percent.
Since year 2007, Correa leads the government of the Citizens' Revolution aimed at constructing Socialism of the 21st Century under the premise that the human being and his/her 'Good Living' takes precedence over capital.
President Correa has promoted numerous transformations aimed at benefiting mainly the poor and needy with programs in health and education, among others.
His performance has two fundamental goals: changing the productive system, traditionally based on mining and the export of raw materials and low value added goods, as well as wiping out poverty.
