Bogota, July 31 (RHC)-- The Institute for Development and Peace Studies (Indepaz) reported this Saturday two new massacres occurred this week in the north of the South American country in the context of a spiral of violence provoked by irregular armed groups and drug trafficking organizations.

In the first case, Indepaz indicated on its Twitter account that three young people, including two minors, were found shot in an abandoned housing development known as Altos de la Mina, located in the municipality of La Jagüa de la Ibirico.

Up to $10 million reward offered by the authorities in the municipality of La Jagua de Ibirico, in the northern department of Cesar for information leading to the location of those responsible for the triple murder that occurred last Thursday night.

In this crime the victims were three young men, one of 18 years old, and two more of 17 years old, who were found dead with firearms in a construction site in the vicinity of Ciudadela Altos de la Mina, in the urban perimeter.

According to the Secretary of Government, William Díaz, after learning of this massacre, the 55th in Colombia during 2022, a security council was held in which not only the reward for information was offered, but also security and investigative measures were agreed upon.

In another case, now in the Chochó district, rural area of Sincelejo, Sucre, three young men were executed after they had been captured by the police.

In a police operation, three young men, accused of participating in the homicide of patrolman Diego Felipe Ruiz Rincón, were killed.  The first information indicates that the three teenagers were on a road near the place where the patrolman died, where they used to practice motorcycling.

After the armed action against the patrolman, the police carried out an operation in search of those responsible. Then, the agents arrived at the place where the young men were, who tried to flee. One of them was injured.

According to witness testimony, the youths were taken to a patrol car alive, supposedly to transfer the wounded man to a clinic.  Hours later, the three were found dead.

For the community, this may be a case of homicide against civilians, since the victims, according to them, were not involved in the homicide of the patrolman but were involved in illegal piques.
