Russian security closes criminal case against Wagner Group

Moscow, Jun 28 (RHC) The Russian Federal Security Service -FSB-, reported Tuesday that it closed the criminal case opened on the case of the armed rebellion of the private military company Wagner.

According to the FSB, the case, which was initiated on June 23 under Article 279 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for armed mutiny, was closed on Tuesday due to the cessation of criminal activities.

In the decision of the law enforcement body, it is stated that the participants of the military uprising on the night of June 24 ceased all their actions directly aimed at committing a crime.

Given this and other circumstances relevant to the investigation, on June 27 the investigative body issued a resolution terminating the criminal case, the FSB explained. (Source: Prensa Latina).
