Quito, Aug 10 (RHC) Interior Minister Juan Zapata confirmed the murder of Ecuadorian presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio. The murder took place on Wednesday evening in the style of a hired assassination, at a political rally that was taking place north of Quito.
Ecuador is suffering an unprecedented wave of insecurity, with acts of political violence that have claimed the lives of dozens of officials and candidates for public office.
