San Francisco, February 16 (RHC)-- Students at Stanford University near San Fransisco, California, are ending a months-long sit-in to demand the university call for a ceasefire in Gaza and divest from Israeli companies complicit in war crimes, among other demands.
Stanford officials had started cracking down on the action, which began in October, threatening to arrest and discipline students who camped out on campus. But the school finally agreed to two meetings with the group to discuss their demands, leading to the decision to disband the longest continuous sit-in in Stanford’s history.
