Damascus, June 11 (RHC)-- Iraq’s Islamic Resistance has announced striking an Israeli military target in neighboring Syria’s Tel Aviv-occupied Golan Heights.  The umbrella group of anti-terror fighters made the announcement in a statement, saying the target in question had been hit using kamikaze drones.

The coalition said it had carried out the operation “in continuation of our path of resisting the occupation.”

The Golan Heights have been under Israeli occupation since 1967, when the regime launched a large-scale war against the regional Arab states, including Syria.

The drone strike, the resistance added, also came “in support of our people in Palestine, and in response to the massacres committed by the usurping entity against civilians including children, women, and the elderly.”  The group has staged numerous such operations against the occupied territories since October 7 last year, when the Israeli regime launched a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.  The Iraqi resistance concluded its statement by pledging to “continue striking the enemy's strongholds.”

Last time, the resistance claimed responsibility for a drone attack on a “vital” and strategic Israeli position in a statement published on the group’s Telegram channel on Saturday.   It said the drone strike was carried out as part of the second phase of operations against the Israeli regime in support of Palestinians in Gaza.
