Venezuela and Belarus advocate strengthening bilateral relations

Havana, July 16 (RHC) The governments of Venezuela and Belarus held a meeting in Caracas on Monday to establish a long-term bilateral agenda in various strategic sectors such as food, petrochemicals and others.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko held a meeting with President Nicolas Maduro, in which both politicians reaffirmed their commitment and solidarity.

Both parties will work on the reactivation of factories and heavy machinery.

Likewise, the Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yvan Gil pointed out that both countries discussed "the challenges and shared goals to ensure the welfare and development of our respective peoples".

Roman Golovchenko stated that "in some respects this visit is special. It is the first visit to Venezuela at the level of the Belarusian head of government, and it takes place on the eve of a great event: the presidential elections".

He said they will discuss the whole range of issues in the trade and economic sphere, "to express our firm and unwavering support for the President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, as well as to convey sincere and warm words of support from the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko."

Similarly, Golovchenko pointed out that "we are looking forward to Nicolas Maduro's visit to Belarus. We hope that Belarus will be one of the first countries he will visit after winning the presidential elections". (Source: TeleSur)
