Gaza City, October 10 (RHC)-- Israel has killed one more journalist covering the regime’s barbarism in the historic Palestinian refugee camp of Jabalia.  Local media reports said Mohammed Tanani was killed by Israeli snipers while reporting on the ground invasion of the camp.

Fadi al-Wahidi, a cameraman working for the Qatar-based Al Jazeera news network, was reportedly shot in the neck. Journalist Tamer Lobad was wounded.

Aljazeera cameraman Ali Al-Attar had also been injured one day earlier with shrapnel wounds to the head. He remains in critical condition.

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) recently said the Israeli campaign of death and destruction across the besieged Palestinian territory had killed more journalists over the past year than any other conflict over the past three decades.
The CPJ says Israel’s military campaign in Gaza has become “the bloodiest for journalists” since the committee began documenting journalist killings worldwide in 1992.

The Palestinian health ministry has estimated that at least 175 were killed between October 7, 2023 and October 6, 2024.

Experts of the United Nations have warned about “the extraordinarily high numbers of journalists and media workers who have been killed, attacked, injured and detained in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.”

Media workers have taken an unprecedented toll since Israel launched its savage campaign following Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023.
