Buenos Aires, January 12 (RHC-PL) --The Argentinian government Monday called on companies in the country to participate in a trade mission to China where President Cristina Fernández will travel next month to deepen strategic relations.

The visit is part of the Growth and Diversification Program of Argentine Exports (PADEX) and is expected to be a multi-sector trade mission to Beijing. It will be held from February 3rd to the 5th.

The mission is intended to open doors for Argentine firms to export to China, such items as food and beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry, professional services and biotechnology, among others.

The government delegation will participate in the Argentina-China Business Forum, to be held on February 4th, which will facilitate rounds of negotiations between the parties.

The Foreign Ministry said that "this action aims to strengthen the bilateral relationship with China, second most important destination for Argentine exports, and open new opportunities for exports to that country.

"The journey of Cristina Fernández to Beijing is in response in response to the visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping, to Buenos Aires in July last year when they ratified the framework of agreements underpinning strategic relations between the two countries.

This visit will enhance trade and investment scheduled for the next 10 years and disbursement strategy for the completion of two gigantic hydroelectric dams in the southern province of Santa Cruz.
