Caracas, November 30 (PL-RHC)-- Venezuelan Defense Minister evaluated the last details to deploy security forces across the country next December 6th, when parliamentary elections will take place.

In a recent meeting between the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) Electoral Mission and Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino -- including the coordinator of the UNASUR mission, Bolivian Gen. José Luis Exeni, and special representative, former Dominican President Leonel Fernández -- Lopez stressed the implementation of the Plan República that begins Monday in order to safeguard the electoral materials, the voting machines and the citizens participating in the process.

He said they expect the voting will take place next Sunday in a peaceful and safe way.

UNASUR representatives said they will be present in at least nine states of the country, evaluating the opening of the polling stations and the course of the voting process.

On December 6th, more than 19 million Venezuelans are expected to cast their votes to choose representatives of the 87 districts countrywide.
