Exhibition of Bible-related Relics Inaugurated in Havana

Havana, January 13 (RHC)-- An exhibit of Bible-related relics was opened in Havana, which also displayed a series of funerary face packs of ancient Egypt, papyruses and other archaeological pieces.

The sample, “The Bible: Path of God on the Path of Man,” is being exhibited at Havana’s Cathedral through February 2nd and is made up of 72 objects related to the history of sacred writings belonging to the Christian and Jewish religions.

At the inauguration of the exhibit, Havana’s historian Eusebio Leal stressed the significance of the arrival of the pieces for Cuban culture, since they are testimonies of universal history.

Meanwhile, Cuban Cardinal Jaime Ortega thanked the efforts of local authorities and individuals to make the exhibition a reality.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by First Vice President Miguel Diaz Canel and by presidential advisor Abel Prieto, as well as special guests such as French Archbishop Jean-Louis Brugues, who is in charge of the famous secret archives and the library of the Vatican.
