UNESCO Dedicates Colloquium to Fidel Castro

Paris, May 24 (RHC)-- The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is to host a colloquium dedicated to the life and work of Cuban Revolution Leader Fidel Castro.

The colloquium, set to begin Monday, May 29th, in Paris, is on occasion of UNESCO's Latin America and Caribbean Week, during which there will be collective exhibitions of contemporary regional artists, multimedia showing world heritage sites in the Latin American and Caribbean region, and traditional dances and music, including the Mexican mariachi and the Argentinean tango.

This year's third edition of the celebration, running through June 2nd, aims to showcase the cultural heritage of the 33 countries members of UNESCO’s Latin America and the Caribbean Group.
