Kingston, August 31 (RHC)-- Grace McLean, official of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information of Jamaica, Wednesday welcomed 18 Cuban teachers who will teach subjects related to the sciences, and Spanish language, in schools of that country.
The collaborators joined 39 other teachers who are deployed throughout the Caribbean nation in primary and secondary schools and in teacher training institutions.
McLean also thanked Cuban professionals on behalf of the Jamaican government and people for the opportunity to study Spanish.
Dorrett Campbell, deputy director of Education, said that teachers work at all levels of the school system, and five will be assigned to primary schools, focusing on pre-school.
Cuban educators are in Jamaica under an exchange program sponsored by the Community of Caribbean States and Cuba.
