Havana, November 3 (RHC-ACN)-- Cuba and Turkey have agreed to broaden their trade ties and increase business links in such areas as the economy, culture and biotechnology.
Turkey participated with a stand at this year's Havana International Trade Fair (FIHAV). Cuban Deputy Minister for Foreign Trade and Investment Ileana Nuñez expressed Cuba's willing to carry out joint businesses in such sectors like oil, energy, food and sugar, agriculture, health and tourism.
She added that concrete projects are expected during the 3rd Cuba-Turkey Technical Meeting, set for December here in Havana.
The Cuban government official highlighted that the Cuban medication Heberprot P -- the only one of its type in the world for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers -- is being commercialized in that country since 2011.
Turkish Ambassador to Cuba Berris Ekinci told the Cuban press that his government is interested in strengthening bilateral cooperation ties in several other areas.
He affirmed that Cuba offers many advantages through the Mariel Special Development Zone to carry out business and pointed out that his country has a program directed to the Latin American market.
