Quito, June 16 (RHC)-- The 59th anniversary of Prensa Latina was celebrated in Ecuador, with an activity attended by intellectuals and journalists from the country, as well as members of Cuba's diplomatic mission in Quito.
Participants recalled the history of Prensa Latina, founded on June 16, 1959, by Ernesto Che Guevara and Argentinean journalist Jorge Ricardo Masetti, to disseminate information about the reality of the Cuban Revolution and counter attacks on the island's social project by mass media corporations.
