Havana, January 29 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel has described as "arrogant and interventionist" the recent allegations by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo against Cuba at the UN Security Council.
In a message posted on his Twitter account, the president also described Pompeo's referrence to Cuba supposedly meddling in Venezuela's affairs as "slanderous."
"Accusations totally arrogant, interventionist, and slanderous will come up facing the decision of the peoples that will never give up their independence and sovereignty. #SomosCuba #SomosContinuidad," the President posted on his account @DiazCanelB.
Cuba's president also posted a message from Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, in which he categorically rejects Pompeo's statements in that international forum.
In addition to predicting the failure of that U.S. maneuver, Bruno Rodriguez said that Pompeo uses slander against Cuba to justify the coup d'Etat against the democratic government of President Nicolas Maduro. The Cuban foreign minister denounced the leading role of Washington in the manoever against the Bolivarian Head of State.
