Havana, September 28 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Raúl Castro, is among six foreign personalities, whom the president of China, Xi Jinping, will award this Sunday in the context of the 70th anniversary of the birth of the Asian country as a republic.
The ceremony will take place in Beijing's Grand People's Palace, where Xi Jinping will present the Republic and Friendship medals, plus other national honorary titles.
The presentation of the important distinction to the Cuban leader ratifies the excellent status of relations between China and Cuba.
Raul Castro will receive the Medal of Friendship, China's highest honor bestowed on friends of other nations for his great contributions in support of the socialist modernization of the Asian nation, for promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries, and for safeguarding world peace.
