Havana, November 14 (RHC)—The president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) Fernando Gonzalez, condemned the coup staged in Bolivia on Sunday against President Evo Morales.

“The oligarchic right-wing is trying to impose its coup strategy, which has unleashed violence, cost deaths, hundreds of wounded and condemnable expressions of racism towards indigenous peoples,” González said Wednesday during a meeting to support the constitutional leader of Bolivia, held at ICAP headquarters in Havana.

Gonzalez said that ICAP strongly condemns and rejects the coup perpetrated by the most reactionary sectors of Bolivia, in conjunction with the government of the United States and the Organization of American States.

He also called for international mobilization in defense of peace in the Andean nation and expressed his solidarity with the members of the Movement for Socialism (MAS), a party led by Morales, who are now victims of threats.
