Havana, June 3 (RHC)-- Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz has confirmed the participation of the Ministry of Communications (MINCOM) in the fight against COVID-19.

During a tour of the Ministry, the Cuban prime minister learned about the work projections in the field of computerization and the use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT).

For his part, the head of Communications, Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, expressed on his Twitter account that Marrero Cruz reflected on the strategic importance of the sector, the need to continue developing telecommunications and to create a greater culture of Internet use and cyber security among the Cuban people.

In previous days, Perdomo Di-Lella said on Twitter that telecommunications/ICTs are a strategic sector for the productive transformation of the country, which will continue to move forward despite the obstacles posed by the U.S. blockade and subversive programs against Cuba.

The Prime Minister later visited the General Customs Office of the Republic, where he learned from the top management of the entity the work they do in times of pandemic to perfect the confrontation to events that put at risk the security at the borders, at the entry and exit of passengers.
