Havana, June 15 (RHC)-- Brazilian solidarity groups have joined the international call of the platform presented in France to promote the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to the Cuban internationalist contingent Henry Reeve.

Carmen Diniz, coordinator of the Comité Carioca de Solidaridad con Cuba, said that in the framework of the 92nd anniversary of the birth of Commander Ernesto Che Guevara on June 14th, support tasks for the Nobel Peace Prize are being carried out in Brazil and will seek to amplify continental solidarity with respect to this initiative.

The coordinator of the Brazil Chapter of the International Committee for Peace, Justice and Dignity of Peoples explained that "the first thing to do is that the media provide visibility to this proposal, not only for medicine, but also for Cuba, to condemn the blockade."

The request to grant the Nobel Peace Prize to the International Contingent of Physicians Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics Henry Reeve, acknowledges the work of these brigades over the past 15 years and their current contribution in dozens of countries in the battle against COVID-19.

Trade unions, solidarity organizations, political parties and personalities from various sectors added their voice to the platform, which includes a group on the social network Facebook with more than 2,800 members and a petition on the French portal MesOpinions.com, signed until Saturday by more than 1,400 people.
