Havana, May 15 (RHC) – Cuba marks International Day of Families on May 15th, which was set up in 1994 by the United Nations.
Stressing that the home is the main cell of society and its values, Cubans celebrate the date with a large array of activities organized by the Federation of Cuban Women, the FMC, throughout the island. Community projects on the occasion offer an scenario to share experiences and evaluate results of various strategies aimed at contributing to the family.
This will be an anniversary for joy and reflection, because rescuing social values from the very cradle, which is our home, is an endless task, said FMC President Teresa Amarelle.
