Ankara, November 12 (RHC)--Representatives from Cuba and Turkey highlighted the strengthening of bilateral relations after signing in Ankara of an agreement for maritime cooperation.

The accord was signed Thursday at the headquarters of Turkey's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure by the deputy minister, Selim Dursun, and the Cuban Ambassador to Turkey, Luis Alberto Amorós.

Both parties highlighted the importance of this initiative, which is part of the actions to commemorate the 68th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two States and will expand joint development projects in the sector.

According to Amorós, the signing of the agreement demonstrates the two governments' willingness to increase economic and commercial ties, despite the complex context generated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Ambassador assured that the planned maritime cooperation projects are of great interest to Cuba and favor Turkish investments in the Antilles' largest island.
